Dr. Alka Gupta, Bangkok, Thailand: India@75 celebrations were launched in Bangkok on 12 March 2021 with the release of Thai translation of #ConstitutionofIndia by H.E Khun Chuan Leekpai, Hon Speaker of #Thai Parliament.
This also fulfilled commitment made by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Thai Prime Minister’s visit to India.
Hon Speaker of Thai Parliament H.E Khun #ChuanLeekpai also viewed the photo exhibition on the Constituent Assembly of India which met from 1946 to 1949 and display of the #Constitution of India.
The event included a dance performance on the freedom struggle by #Kathak guru Murali Mohanji and his disciple.
Thai translation of Indian Constitution undertaken by Embassy to fulfil Government of India commitment made during visit of H.E Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to India in June, 2016. The project was entrusted to Asst Prof Surat Horaichukul, Director, Centre for Indian Studies, Chulalongkorn University.
The event was graced by dignitaries including Senators and MPs, senior members of the judiciary, Thai Foreign Ministry, diplomatic corps, armed forces, business leaders, Indian community and media representatives.
