
Indian High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami assured Bangladesh of the best support in the COVID-19 vaccine supply
India has always stood by Bangladesh in the hours of need and will stand this time also. He also said
“We cannot do more than what we have. But what we can assure Bangladesh is, we will do our best to ensure that within the limit of physical production; whatever we can share, we will share,” the high commissioner said.
The high commissioner said this while replying to queries from reporters at Akhaura Land Port in Brahmanbaria this morning. He was returning to Dhaka from India by road, after a four-day vacation.
The high commissioner mentioned that already Bangladesh is the recipient country of the largest number of vaccines from India.
India and Bangladesh shares a very special relationship, he said, “We are all working together to try and deal with the crisis that we have,” he said, adding that the second wave of coronavirus is a major one.
India is in a very difficult situation right now, he said.
“We are all trying together. Let’s see how best we can cooperate for the best interest of both the countries,” the High Commissioner said.
He further said that he went to the Prime Minister’s office in Delhi for follow up.
