Vice President Harris, Secretary Blinken, and Other High-level Speakers to Deliver Remarks at the 51st Annual Washington Conference on the Americas THE USA,29 April 2021 Office of the Spokesperson Vice President Kamala D. Harris will deliver virtual remarks at the 51st Annual Washington Conference on the Americas, co-hosted by the U.S. Department of State and the Council of the Americas, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. This year’s Conference, titled “Democratic, Prosperous and Secure: Restoring a Partnership for Sustainable Growth,” will highlight the Administration’s hemispheric policy priorities and efforts to reaffirm and strengthen U.S. partnerships with countries in the region. The Conference will also feature remarks by senior U.S. government officials including Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken; Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo; Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas; Trade Representative Katherine Tai; House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Gregory Meeks; and Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Julie Chung. In addition, the Conference will include remarks from leaders in the Western Hemisphere including Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic Roberto Alvarez; Minister of Trade, Industry, and Tourism of Colombia Jose Manuel Restrepo; and Executive Vice President of the Inter-American Development Bank Reina Irene Mejía.
