By PIB Kolkata, May 13, 2021
While humanity is combating the present COVID-19 pandemic with utter difficulties, its fallout has shattered the global tourism and entertainment industry where museums feature prominently. Bereft of visitors and consequently cropping some negative impact on revenue, museums are in a disappointed state regarding their future modus operandi. Is there a meaningful path ahead?
This is what Dr. Jayanta Sthanapati, the former Deputy Director General, National Council of Science Museums, will be exploring through his presentation “The Future of Museums: Recover and Re-imagine”.
This International Museum Day, while giving the audience an insight into the activities of the museums the world over, Dr. Sthanapati will be suggesting a few paths for the museum helm to ponder upon.
He will be watched this Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 11:00 am onwards at the platform https://youtu.be/oDsp13yx-NM. Interested viewers may also participate through www.bitm.gov.in/museum-day-2021.
