Sanchita Banerjee,Kolkata,25 June 2021:
Income Tax department launched news Income Tax Portal for the return submission in the First week of June 2021, but that has drawn many questions from all walks of life, specially from the Tax consultants and CA institutes of India.
While talking to a popular lady tax consultant of Kolkata, she told earlier TCS made site was much easier to use and user friendly while this new Infosys giant is not at all friendly for the day to day work.
Government has wasted vital taxpayers’ money in the name of up-gradation and robust system replacing the earlier one. When a country is suffering from economic glitches because of pandemic and slow was the need for the new vendor and new system which can not deliver the desired result.
Did the system integrator and Income Tax department done the ground reality check and if yes then why the system failed to meet the expectation not even matching the previous systems effectiveness and user friendly UI. Most of the icons in the system at present inactive and which is very confusing and difficult for operation. Last financial year IT submission last date was 31st May 2021, but post new system implementation nothing is working or downloaded for submission. Even in new system the acknowledgement receipt are now inactive. Which is creating problem at end user level. We request IT department to kindly consider the problems and solve at earliest.
ITR Form-3 is till date not available on the site, which delaying the total work. Last date for the current year is 30th September 2021 which extended due to pandemic. So, the question is time lost because of this system glitches how is going to be compensated to avoid extra pressure on the Tax consultant and load on the system in short time.
Most of the Tax Consultants have raised the concern and appealed to the authorities to solve the issues at their earliest.
