On the event of the vaccine manipulation taking place in Kasba in Kolkata, two days prior, Leader of the Opposition party, Suvendu Adhikari, writes a letter to the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
In the letter Mr. Adhikari states of the growing vaccination progress in the state of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat, and how West Bengal fails at the said task. He cited A lot of reasons for this failure, including the possible political influence in vaccination drives.
Coming to the incident of Vaccine manipulation in Kasba, Debajna Deb, a person said to be impersonating as an IAS Officer and working as a Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation has been holding illegal ‘vaccination camps’ in Ward No. 107 of Kasba in the heart of Kolkata. Under the colors of the current residing party of the state, their camps in the color of white and blue, many people are already inoculated in the areas of Amherst street and Sonarpur.
With Covid still being a threat to livelihoods and halting the resume of normal life, being a vaccinated country is our topmost priority, but such incidents only show, how this creates an opportunity for the idealists and further creates a room of tension and concern for the average person, who are still skeptic about the vaccination. And this will be a deterrent for the vaccination drive launched by the Central and State Governments, respectively. This is the prime time society and government should join hand to remove such moles in the vaccination procedure for the entire country, specially in West Bengal.
