In regards to this All India Jewellery Hand Made Workers Federation’s President and West Bengal Jewellery Artsian Workers’ Union’s Secretary Sri Ranjan Das said “We want the hallmarking process to start soon. We demand the government to set up hallmarking centers under its control and Hallmarks should be given only if the value of gold is determined by a government approved gold workers “
He added, “We think that some dishonest gold traders are trying to influence the hallmarking process by using their own influence in the hallmarking process, which has raised questions about the transparency of the hallmarking process.”
