BSF APPREHENDED AN INDIAN SMUGGLER WITH PHENSEDYL ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER
On January 13, 2022, the South Bengal Frontier jawans apprehended one smuggler with 58 Phensedyl bottles in their border area and seized 768 Phensedyl bottles in other incidents. The estimated cost of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs 1,54,172. Smugglers were trying to take all these Phensedyl bottles from India to Bangladesh.
On January 13, 2022, at around 1105 am, the troops of Border Out Post Sagarpara, 141 Battalion, acting on specific information, apprehended one Indian smuggler with 58 Phensedyl bottles. The smuggler was trying to smuggle Phensedyl from India to Bangladesh from the area of the Border Out Post Sagarpara.
On interrogation, the identity of the apprehended smuggler was revealed as Manik Haldar, S/o– Haripada Haldar, Village – Surya Nagar Colony, PS – Sagarpara, District – Murshidabad. She revealed that she had taken these Phensedyl bottles from Paresh Biswas, S/o- Pankaj Biswas, Village- Thakur Nagar Colony, Post- Godagri, Thana- Sagarpara. After crossing the duty line of BSF, all the bottles were to be handed over all these bottles to Babar Ali Biswas S/o- Shamsher Ali Bishwash, Village- Uday Nagar Char Colony, Post- South Paraspur Police Station Jalangi.
In another incident, South Bengal Frontier troops foiled the efforts of smugglers and seized 768 Phensedyl bottles from their area of responsibility.
The apprehended smuggler and the seized items have been handed over to the concerned Police Station.
