The Governor has adjourned the West Bengal Legislative Assembly; the rules are effective from today
Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar adjourned the assembly. This decision is effective from today. He tweeted that the governor had adjourned the assembly.
Shri Dhankhar said the decision was taken in accordance with Article 164 of the Constitution. This decision has been taken because of the power of the constitution.
In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Article 174 of the Constitution, I, Jagdeep Dhankhar, Governor of the State of West Bengal, hereby prorogue the West Bengal Legislative Assembly with effect from 12 February 2022.
