Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga under Ministry of Ayush is organizing Yoga Mahotsav-2022 tomorrow. Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, will inaugurate the event to commemorate 100 days countdown to International Day of Yoga-2022. The basic objective of this event is to give a wider promotion and publicity to various dimensions of Yoga and its utility and also to promote the 100 days countdown campaign to IDY-2022 for Health, Well-being and World Peace. Also, to widen the horizons the Ministry of Ayush under the aegis of Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga is also starting a campaign: 100 days, 100 cities and 100 organisations between 13th March, 2022 to 21st June, 2022 across the globe.
IDY-2022 is the 8th edition of International Day of Yoga. Following the footprints, this year, Yoga Mahotsav-2022 is being organized by MDNIY to give a wider promotion and publicity to various dimensions of Yoga and its utility, and to kindle a mass movement to promote health and wellbeing and peace across the globe. It is worth mentioning that 100 days countdown is an important event in observation of IDY every year. The event will formally mark the beginning of the journey towards 8th IDY -2022, a journey towards freedom from disease, stress and depression.
With the inception of IDY since 2015, Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of Ayush has been successfully organizing Yoga Mahotsav in the past to sensitize the masses regarding the celebration of IDY.
Ministry of Ayush, being the nodal ministry for IDY in India, has taken the lead in organising seven successful editions of International Day of Yoga (IDY) which found great enthusiasm and worldwide support. The Ministry has initiated various programmes and collaborations to build on the progress achieved over the last 7 years in taking the message of Yoga globally. This year too the Ministry will formally mark the beginning of the 100-day countdown towards the journey of 8th IDY with a curtain raiser on the 13th of March 2022 – an event to commemorate 100 days countdown to IDY-2022 at 10:00 am onwards at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi in the august presence of several dignitaries.
The event will also be graced by senior officials of Ministry of Ayush, various other ministries, officers of Research Councils and National Institutes, MoA many other eminent dignitaries and experts., and messages by several revered Yoga masters and gurus.
Approx. 1500 participants including the academic Yoga Masters, Scholars, Policy Makers, Bureaucrats, Corporate Personnel Yoga Enthusiasts and Experts of Allied Sciences are going to participate in Yoga Mahotsav-2022.
