Human rights of minorities were again violated in Dhaka, Bangladesh, as ISKCON Temple was vandalized by Islamic fanatics.
When the world was just cooling down and thought that Hindu Genocide in Bangladesh was an act of anti-national elements and not that of peace-loving Bangladeshi Muslim citizens, another vandalism took place at Wari Radhakanta ISKCON temple.
This is the Temple where I used to visit regularly during my posting in Dhaka in 1998-2003 that five years was one of the best times I had and felt the warmth of Bangladesh and Bangladeshi students unparallel anywhere in the world.
But this Wari temple is a popular spot and another temple is Wari Kalibari, another Hindu Temple, which is also nearby Banga Bhavan the Bangladesh President House. If this high-security zone is compromised, then what will happen to other places?
Lots of Hindus used to live there during the 1990s and 2005 but now the exodus and genocide & ethnic cleansing of Hindus people are now fearless of the attack in this area as well.
Being a teacher who spent his life for the education of people I can not vouch for armed struggle for retaliation, but I can see the need of the hour that the United Nations should stand by Hindus and take this as a Global Crisis with a crime against humanity.
Indian subcontinent must understand any form of extreme action will fetch more harm than good. At the same time, the Indian Government must help Bangladesh with many inputs on why these are happening. Community with community living harmoniously is now an oxymoron called communal harmony. Prime Minister Modi must talk to Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina and see what best can be done to protect Hindus and others as a whole.
Definitely, people have seen these attacks during Holi in Bangladesh Temples a preamble to 19 Jan 1990 that of Srinagar Kashmir.
Better administration gets their grip tight or else if the sleeping bigger section awakens in retaliation, that will be a catastrophic act for peace.
But for sure this will see the Hindu resurgence in Indian Heartland. Better Bangladesh makes things tight before all fall down because of fanatic Bangladeshi Islamic Fundamentalist Terror Groups. Honorable PM of Bangladesh trying her best to uphold the respect and dignity of Bangladesh in the global context, but Islamic fundamentalist forces and Jamat-E-Islami followers are making it difficult for the Hasina and her administration day by day.
When we spoke to Radharamn Das Vice-President ISKCON Kolkata, India he sent us the following message as the major grief and concern:
“On the eve of Holi when devotees were preparing for the Gour Purnima celebrations, a mob of 200 to 250 people entered our one of the temple premises in Dhaka & chanted “Nara-ye Takbir”. In the scuffle, two of our devotees were injured in the attack.
Fortunately, Police arrived after 30 minutes and drove away from the miscreants out of our temple premises. The situation is under control. But this repeated attack on the Hindu minorities of Bangladesh very concerns. This must stop.
It’s very, very unfortunate incident on the eve of Dol Yatra & Holi celebrations. Just a few days ago, United Nations passed a resolution declaring 15th March as an International day to combat Islamophobia.
We r surprised that the same United Nations is mute to the suffering of thousands of helpless Bangladeshi & Pakistani minorities. So many of the Hindu minorities have lost their lives, property, have been raped, but alas, all United Nations can do is to ponder upon Islamophobia.
The conditions of Hindu minorities worldwide is very concerning, including India where Hindus r minorities. Hindus have to STOP looking towards namesake institutions like UN which is mute to the cries of Hindus: UN-mute @UN”
Other Hindu Organizations also condemned such acts and requested all to keep peace in place with communal harmony.
GAUDIYA MISION & GAUDIYA Math, Bagbazar and there President & Acharya – Srimad Bhakti Sundar Sanayasi Goswami Maharaj, Assistant Secretary – Bhakti Nistha Madhusudan Maharaj all said that any religious institution should be respected by all and this kind of act is a symbol of barbaric act. We feel that Bangladesh Government will be able to restore peace and normalcy in a very short time.
General Secretary West Bengal of AIRA International Reporter Association said it is very unfortunate that during the Bangabandhu Birthday celebration such a crime against minorities can be performed by Bangladeshi fundamentalist which is against Bangladesh founder Father’s ideology of Bangladesh. Definitely, this is to defame the government under a big conspiracy by vested interest groups of terror mentality.
