His excellency Shri Jagdeep Dhankar Ji is very much disappointed with the role and responsibility of the media fraternity of West Bengal. He said, at the time of national crisis-like conditions media has to be more responsible and must show strength like the fourth pillar of democracy. Which he felt that is missing nowadays.

Talking to the West Bengal General Secretary of AIRA International Reporter Association, Shri Suman Munshi he told despite being delighted with his view of impartial journalism, His excellency still doubts, if any real journalistic might may be left in West Bengal anymore. Governor was speaking to Shri Suman Munshi exclusively in presence of the Union Minister Shri G. Kishan Reddy after the event at Victoria Memorial.

Honorable Governor’s concern is very much concern for the health of democracy and silence by the media over issues of national importance. If the media is afraid of consequences after reporting an event or getting hurt while at the job is the most dangerous sign in any democracy.

Shri Suman Munshi assured his excellency that IBG NEWS and AIRA International Reporter Association will always work for the facts and figures for truthful reporting.
