It Is Our Duty to Prevent Youth From Entering Into the Crime World. It Is a Real Service To The Society, said Shri Rakesh Asthana – IPS, Commissioner of Delhi Police.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized an Interactive Session with Shri Rakesh Asthana – IPS, Commissioner of Delhi Police at PHD House today.

Shri Rakesh Asthana – IPS, Commissioner of Delhi Police, started the discussion by projecting the potential and capabilities of Delhi Police. He addressed how Delhi Police can help the business world to flourish in ease of doing business. He mentioned that response time for PCR has been reduced from 8 to 3.5 minutes, which has increased the satisfaction level of the claimant. Facility of E-FIR has yielded good results and a new provision for house theft has also been added recently for more convenience, he added. For better policing people have been associated with different police stations in their nearby areas. In terms of the business world Cheating, forgering, misappropriation rates are high which require  a lot of investigation as it is document based and  working on quick disposal of these cases is afoot. He urges us all to be their silent supporters in reducing crimes. He quoted  that One of the emerging area in crime world is Cyber Crime, has no boundary and easily deceives people. To address this issue well trained staff has been recruited. He also stated the facts and figures of criminal data that 86% of criminals are first timers and he urges all to help and prevent them from entering into this crime world. This is the real service to the society, saidShri Rakesh Asthana.

Mr. Pradeep Multani, President, PHDCCI, said that the police, a body of officers representing the civil authority of the government is a very important body for the society and the country. Police typically are responsible for maintaining public order and safety, enforcing the law, and preventing, detecting, and investigating criminal activities. To combat and prevent crime, and make public places safer, especially during festival seasons, by comprehensive patrolling and increasing police visibility the southwest district Delhi Police started a patrolling operation called ‘Satark’ in October 2021. The operation Satark was inaugurated on 11 October 2021. Intending to curb the incidents of street crime, Northwest District Delhi Police launched operation ‘Sajag’ in October 2021. Delhi Police has also adopted a proactive strategy for the prevention of crime. After a detailed study of crime patterns and contributing factors, specific strategies were adopted for specific crimes under the umbrella of Operation “Ankush”.

 Mr. Saket Dalmia, Senior Vice President,PHDCCI, mentioned that India is changing fast. One of the largest economic growth engines in the world, India is poised to become a global economic and political power in the next few decades. A country’s security environment has a direct relationship with its ability to meet its economic aspirations. A competent police force provides reliable, accessible, responsive, technology-driven and trained policing services to the people and also builds appropriate accountability mechanisms. A police force that is values-driven, will promote integrity, set standards of conduct, make efforts to reduce corruption, and ensure that police discharge their duties with fairness and impartiality.

Sanjeev Agrawal, Vice President, PHDCCI, talked about tremendous responsibility of police to serve the community and ensure its safety & security. Delhi Police has engaged the Quality Council of India (QCI), to lead nationwide quality movement in India, to conduct a Public Perception Survey using globally tested statistical tools for assessing the quality of citizen services rendered by the Delhi Police. This will be helpful in devising appropriate responses to the needs and expectations of the people with regard to policing and enhancing the level of satisfaction.
