Uday Krishna Peddireddi the “Treeman of India” made his Earth storytelling to the CBIT students.

Uday Krishna is not only an outright nature lover and nature activist but also a great human being to be with society. He explained this session with the student in his own style. Uday is also our editorial panel member who listens to the story from the “Treeman” in his own words:

Broke the routine this #EarthDay2022. took up the challenge of addressing Students of CBIT and shared Vata Foundation’s journey. Proud of my team.. what started off as an experiment in 2010 has so far saved over 2000 fully grown trees across 5 states… and managed to convince both state level and national level leaders to consider Translocation as the last option.. results are visible.. many NHAI projects now translocate trees instead of cutting them.. next thing is to ensure it is done when survival is at the highest… this has got me the title of “Tree Man of India” today we get calls for help in saving trees from across the country.

And soon hope to start a helpline with some CSR help.. save trees anywhere across the country. Our Translocation efforts have been recognized by FCRI and a document is being prepared which should find its way into our education system. Indirectly saved over 50000 trees.. ensured some were retained.. some translocated.. planted over 20000 saplings.. across 2 states. Adopted and support a jungle for almost 8 yrs now.. where we have been regularly providing the staff with jackets and shoes.. clean the jungle of its plastic and trained the drivers and guides to continue on a regular basis… provided a water tanker to ensure water for the animals.. drone support, grass cutters/fire blowers/ solar pumps etc.. creating lakes… planting and maintaining 3000 trees for the next 3 yrs (with CSR support).

For the first time we have taken up community work.. initiated a “आरोग्य गाँव श्रीमंथ गाँव” “clean village.. healthy village” where we are working in ensuring basic cleanliness and health is taken care of.. plant and maintain saplings, provide sports equipment to Govt schools, plastic clean-up drives, etc..and now changing gears and taking up bigger challenges.. which I will share in the coming months.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without your support.. many of you have helped in Vatas journey and continue to do so… there are many of you who regularly volunteered in our work.. the list is very long and would like to thank you for being a part of this wonderful journey… not tagging anyone at this point.. as not everyone are on fb..Thank you once again for your support and buckle up for bigger things in the coming months!!!
