The Botanical Survey of India, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, offices located at Howrah AJC Bose Indian Botanic Garden, Central National Herbarium, and Central Botanical Laboratory jointly organized ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ awareness campaign with India Post, Howrah Postal Division under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th years of India’s independence.
The Tiranga Rally was flagged off by Dr R. K. Gupta, Scientist E, HoO, Central National Herbarium, Howrah, and Sh. Shri Debasis Chatterjee, Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Howrah Division on 12 August 2022.
All senior scientists and officials participated in the Tiranga rally. Dr R. K. Gupta called all participants to hoist the National flag with pride and as per rules mentioned in the Flag Code of India. The bilingual pamphlets about the Flag Code of India were distributed to the general public during the event.
Shri Debasis Chatterjee, from the postal department Howrah, informed us that India’s post delivers National Flag at a nominal price to support Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. On this occasion, Dr. K Karthigeyan, Dr M Panalisamy, Dr K.A.A. Kabeer, Dr. Vinay Ranjan, and other senior scientists and officials of the Botanical Survey of India were present.
