BSF FREES RARE SPECIES OF BIRDS FROM THE CLUTCHES OF SMUGGLERS

On 23rd August 2022 at 1828 hrs,
Under the South Bengal Frontier, on the basis of reliable information, troops of Border Out Post Ghojadanga, 153 Battalion captured 20 rare species of birds (African Love Birds) and 10 (Red Rumped Parrot) from the smugglers. When the troops saw a suspicious motorcycle coming toward them and wanted to stop it, both the men on the bike ran back toward India at high speed. After that troops brought the bike to the Out Post and searched it, 30 rare species of birds came out from under the seat. The smugglers were bringing these special species of birds from Bangladesh to India for smuggling.
The rare birds rescued from the clutches of smugglers have been handed over to Custom Office Ghojadanga.
Shri Jawahar Singh Negi, Commanding Officer 153 Battalion, stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict action to prevent the smuggling of rare species of birds along the Border. He stated in clear words that we will not allow smuggling from our area under any circumstances.
