lst Skill Convocation Ceremony, 2021-22 / Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh-2022 at NATIONAL SKILL TRAINING INSTITUTE FOR WOMEN, KOLKATA
National Skill Training Institute for Women, Kolkata, established in 1987, is imparting industry-oriented and need-based vocational training and vocational instructor training for women. The National Skill Training Institute for Women, Kolkata is functioning directly under the control of the Government of India, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Directorate General of Training (Women Training)
The different schemes of Skill training conducted at NSTI(W) Kolkata are,
Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS)
Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS)
Skill Hub Initiative (SHI), Training of Trainers- Short Term Training
Advanced Diploma (Vocational) in association with IBM,
Extension Centre of IGNOU, NIOS, NIMI.
As instructions and guidelines issued from the Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, this institute has conducted its lst Skill Convocation Ceremony, 2021-22 / Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh-2022
On 17th September 2022 at its Campus (CP-16; Salt Lake City, Sector-5′ Kolkata- 700091). The event started with the invitation of the chief guest and other dignitaries to the dais, followed by the lighting of the lamp ceremony and Saraswathi Vandana. In chief guest we had was Mr. Sandeep Puri, General Manager (IT&C), NHPC Ltd. Kolkata. Smt. Kanchan V Nair, Principal, NSTI(W) Kolkata honoured him with traditional Uttarayana and memento.
Among other dignitaries, Smt. Kanchan V Nair, Principal, NSTI(W) Kolkata, Sh. Amrit Pal Singh, Joint Director, CSTARI, Kolkata Sh. Ashim Roy, DDT, Controller of Examination, RDSDE West Bengal, and Mr. Bikram Kumar Das, NSDC Kolkata were present and addressed the passing out trainees of CTS and CITS. Shri N.R. Aravindan, Regional Director, RDSDE, West Bengal; due to another government program could not physically attend this ceremony but he sent his best wishes message to all the passing out trainees.
In the audience; trainees, parents, faculties, and officials/ staff of NSTI(W) Kolkata, RDSDE WB and CSTARI Kolkata, and others were present at the ceremony. The lst address was of Smt. Kanchan V Nair, Principal, NSTI(W) Kolkata to the audience and gave her best wishes for the bright future career of the trainees. Further, the second address of the invited guest was Sh. Amrit Pal Singh, Joint Director, CSTARI,
Kolkata, where he enlightens the trainees about the need for skill and entrepreneurship for society. Mr. Bikram Kumar Das, NSDC Kolkata in his address told the trainees about 2lst century India’s needs and how different schemes of both state and central government are full filling the needs of the society.
ln today’s ceremony, certificates, and trophies were presented to the CTS and CITS passing out trainees and toppers by the chief guest, Mr. Sandeep Puri, General Manager (IT&C), NHPC Ltd. Kolkata. In the convocation address, the chief guest Mr. Puri said how both failure and success matter in life to make the best career.
Then, Cultural Programme was performed by the trainees followed by a Vote of thanks by Sh. Ashim Roy, DDT, Controller of Examination, RDSDE West Bengal.
The Kaushal Deekshant Samaroh-2022 at NSTI(W) Kolkata concluded with singing our National Anthem by all the participants. The lunch was arranged for all the invited guests, trainees, parents, officials, and staff.
