‘A Glowing Tribute’, a multi-media project to celebrate the UNESCO World Heritage Tag for Kolkata Durga Puja and all the people behind it, is an initiative of ‘Resource Indica : Media & Movement’; and it is being flagged-off with the release of this Special Gold Coin that is symbolic of all the shimmer and shine of the festival’
A film, on the background of the project, is also being released with the gold coin.
The mass media communication of this inaugural presentation of the project, features a relevant archival picture of a 2018 theme presentation at ‘Kumartuli Sarbajanin Durgotsav’ in North Kolkata
And the release of the special gold coin was held at the Ballygunge Cultural Association Durga Puja pandal in South Kolkata.
The above popular puja committees were chosen – for association with this presentation – because they represent the two distinctly different faces of the city.
“Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers has always extended the pursuit of excellence beyond the four walls of the jewellery showrooms to present all that is really gold in and around us”, said Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, adding, “And we are, therefore, delighted to present this Special Gold Coin that is in celebration of the UNESCO World Heritage Tag for Kolkata Durga Puja and is symbolic of all to the real shimmer and shine of the festival”
“We are happy to be associated with this very special project about Kolkata Durga Puja because the pratima of the Mother Goddess and Lakshmi-Saraswati is not complete without the Alta in their feet and hand”, said Aritra Roy Choudhury, Director, Khukumoni, adding, ” And also because the 10-day festival ends with much song and dance about Sindoor with ‘Sindoor Khela’ on Bijoya Dashami day”
‘A Glowing Tribute’ is part of a bigger project that includes many other presentations – to celebrate the UNESCO World Heritage Tag and dedicate it to people – specially, the unsung heroes of all the festivity and celebrat – who make it all happen”, said Sudip Sen, Director, Resource Indica : Media & Movement, adding, “And all the presentations, put together after years of background work, are being timed this year – the first, after the UNESCO declaration of the World Heritage Tag for Kolkata Durga Puja – the first festival in Asia to be recognised as thus”
