THWARTING THE PLANS OF THE SMUGGLERS, BSF SEIZED A HUGE QUANTITY OF PHENSEDYL AND GANJA ON THE BORDER
(District-North 24 Parganas, Murshidabad & Malda)
On 25th/26th October 2022, in separate incidents on the Border under the South Bengal Frontier, the jawans seized 512 bottles of Phensedyl including 35 kgs of Ganja from their area.
On 25th/26th October’ 2022, troops of Border Out Post Pustighata, 68 Battalion, Border Out Post Dobarpara, 158 Battalion, Border Out Post Lavangola, 35 Battalion, and Border Out Post Sasani, 70 Battalion, seized 512 bottles of Phensedyl from their respective areas of responsibility. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl is 1,05,118/- rupees.
In another incident, based on reliable information troops of Border Out Post Sutia, 107 Battalion recovered 35 kgs of Ganja from their area of responsibility.
The confiscated goods were handed over to Police Stations Bagdah, Bhagwangola, Gaighata, Kaliachak, and Bangaon respectively for further legal action.
A spokesperson of the South Bengal Frontier stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to check smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people indulged in smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are getting apprehended. The officer stated in strong words that the Border Security Force will not allow smuggling under any circumstances.
