Signing of MoU between the Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Transform Schools, People for Action to create deeper impact in post-primary education in West Bengal
Merchants’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) entered into a memorandum of Understanding with Transform Schools, People for Action towards creating deeper impact in the Post-Primary education space in West Bengal on 14th December, 2022.
The MoU is signed between Dr. Saugat Mukherjee, Director-General, MCCI and Shri Pankaj Vinayak Sharma, CEO, Transform Schools, People for Action.
MCCI is a 122 year old leading Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata providing crucial links between businesses and policymakers, thereby creating an economic environment which benefits all stakeholders. MCCI creates and curates meaningful initiatives aimed not just at Industry but also holistic programmes such as CSR and educational advocacy. Transform Schools is a not profit organization with a mission to improve learning outcomes in the post primary space in public schools.
To carry forward this vision, MCCI has signed its second MoU for the year in Education space, this time with Transform Schools, which already has a strong presence in Odisha, Telangana, Haryana and Chhattisgrah. The MoU aims to –
- Deploy curated programmes in the funder’s location of choice in West Bengal.
- Collaborate on opportunities to develop impactful educational initiatives as a pilot with a view to scale.
- Commission Research and Policy Advocacy in the education space
- Raise brand awareness for jointly branded initiatives with Transform Schools.
Shri Rishabh C. Kothari, President, MCCI said, “Industry can be a significant partner in the education of the underprivileged in India. This MoU fulfils a need for a greater degree of collaboration in the space”.
Shri Pankaj Vinayak Sharma, CEO, Transform Schools, said, ““The MOU with MCCI is a significant step in bringing impact to outcome and analytics driven education in the affordable space with the help of stakeholders in West Bengal.”
