WORLD KIDNEY DAY 2023
Command Hospital Eastern Command (CHEC), Kolkata has joined hands with Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation (East) to celebrate the 23rd World Kidney day, on Thursday, 09 Mar 2023.
Chief Guest Lt General Rana Pratap Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, GOC- in – C, Eastern Command accompanied by his wife Mrs. Nisha Kalita, Regional President of AWWA along with Major General Shivinder Singh, Commandant CH (EC) inaugurated the ceremony, which was followed by cake cutting to commemorate the successful completion of 200 transplants in CH (EC).
On the occasion of World Kidney Day, Col Jai Inder Singh, HOD Nephrology, delivered a speech on the Journey of Kidney Transplant at CH (EC). 06 families of deceased donors were felicitated by the Chief Guest. The event concluded with the pledging of Organ Donation by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries who attended the function. The occasion was graced by Dr. Arpita Ray Chaudhary, Joint Director ROTTO, Dr. Suparna Dutta, Director Department of Health and Family Welfare, Col (Retd) Basak, Transplant Immunologist Bellvue Clinic, Mrs. Mahasweta Chakravarty, Indian Redcross Welfare Officer of Defence Services and HODs of various Departments.
