Government is engaging with G-20 countries to build international coordination on policy approach to crypto assets, says MoS Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary

The Government is engaging with G-20 countries to build international coordination on policy approach to crypto assets. This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Finance Shri Pankaj Chaudhary in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.
The Minister further stated that the Indian Presidency provides an opportunity to place different priorities, including priority on crypto assets, on the agenda for international collaboration. Crypto Assets are by definition borderless and require international collaboration to prevent regulatory arbitrage. Therefore, any legislation for regulation or for banning can be effective only with significant international collaboration on evaluation of the risks and benefits and evolution of common taxonomy and standards, the Minister stated.

Mr. Auguste Kouame, Country Director, World Bank today called on Hon’ble Minister of Development of North-East Region, Tourism and Culture, Shri G. Kishan Reddy to discuss avenues for greater collaboration in the North-East Region.
Shri G. Kishan Reddy welcomed the World Bank delegation led by Mr. Auguste Kouame and appreciated the World Bank’s continued support towards ushering in development in the region and accelerating the movement towards holistic development of the North-East Region. Shri Reddy said that under the guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, the North-East Region has been set on a trajectory towards becoming the growth engine of the region. World Bank is at present and will continue to be a vital partner in this mission.
During the meeting, Mr. Kouame appreciated the Government of India’s sustained efforts in the North-East Region and indicated that MDoNER and World Bank should work closely and explore various areas of cooperation to ensure development reaches the last mile and create sustainable livelihood opportunities for the people of North East.
