Sri Deepak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager/Sealdah, along with other Senior Officers of Sealdah Division conducted inspection at the Sealdah-Canning section on 17.03.2023.
During the said visit, a window trailing inspection was conducted by DRM, Sealdah in which he inspected the various issues related to signalling, P/Way, existing unauthorized level crossings and planning for removal of the same, etc.
Sri Nigam vividly inspected the stations, platforms, status of the available amenities, shortcomings and augmentation thereof and issued instruction to the concerned officers for rectification/repairing.
Canning station is among the 15 stations over Sealdah Division which have been selected under the Amrit Bharat Scheme as per Railway Board. Keeping in mind the Tourist interest of this station the façade and the other amenities of the station should be explored to provide a vivid and elegant look.
During this visit of Sri Deepak Nigam, he inspected panel rooms, points & crossings, had discussions over Yard diagram and related issues and other mass passenger contact areas like Booking office, Reservation counters, etc.
He pointed out the various areas where development is required and counselled the staff to be more vigil. He interacted with the passengers for their feedback and suggestions regarding improvement, he also interacted with the staff and enquired about the areas in which they are facing setback and suggested ideas to enhance their skill to provide better facilities to the passengers.
