ERECTION OF 50M GIRDER SPAN AT MAJERHAT VIADUCT APPROACHING JAI HIND SETU

Another milestone has been achieved during the construction of the Joka- Esplanade Metro Project.
The construction work of the Joka- Esplanade Metro (Purple Line) Project from the Taratala to Esplanade stretch has been going on in full swing. Erection of 50-metre steel composite Girder Span at Majerhat on the very busy Diamond Harbour Road near Burdwan Road Crossing was very challenging. The 4 plate girders of 50m steel composite span have been erected on the alignment of the Metro viaduct on the approach of Jai Hind Setu.
The challenging work at the highly congested crossing in close vicinity of a Petrol Pump, shops, and residences involved accurate planning, and removal of several utilities and was carried out taking a mega traffic block of 24 hrs.
Senior officers of Rail Vikash Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and other staff have been working round the clock to ensure the smooth progress of this work. All safety precautions have been taken at the project site for the workers.
