In a recent attempt by vested interest groups of different sections to disturb the peace process in Manipur and North East reason was able to make a dent in the Manipur region to create some unrest in the name of reservation to some communities from Manipur.
But after initial vandalism and terror acts people and government from the state and center took action and credit goes to the Boys of Indian Defence who spent sleepless nights to bring the situation under admissible control compared to the initial unrest condition.
Timely intervention by Indian Army and Air Force along with the All Defence Unit in the area helped to reach such a hard condition towards normalcy. Indian defense personnel and commanding officers deserve heartfelt congratulations for saving innocent people and destroying the evils on the grounds.
Sources close to the Indian defense in Eastern Sector and New Delhi both reported the following developments:
The situation was brought under control through coordinated actions by all stakeholders.
IAF undertook continuous sorties from two airfields in Assam employing C17 Globemaster & AN 32 aircraft. Induction commenced on the night of 04 May & additional columns commenced domination with effect from the wee hours of 05 May 23. Domination & evacuation of civilians of all communities from affected areas continued throughout the night. Flag march in CC’Pur and other sensitive areas underway.

- 24*7 Help Desks have been established at the under-mentioned locs to assist Armed Forces soldiers on leave and veterans residing in the disturbed areas of Manipur with effect from 2300h (03 May 23), these include those on leave for tourist purposes in Manipur.
