“The Eken – Ruddhaswas Rajasthan,” a cinematic experience directed by the visionary Joydeep Mukherjee, has emerged as the first superhit of Bengali cinema in 2023, making SVF deliver the first grosser of the Bengali Film industry for the year 2023. Starring the talented trio of Anirban Chakrabarti, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, and Somak Ghosh, alongside the mesmerizing Sandipta Sen, this film has captured the hearts and imaginations of audiences, culminating in a remarkable box office collection of over ₹3 crores in just 25 days.
To begin on an optimistic note for the Bengali film industry, the year also has brought good tidings as it has continued the streak of superhits around Poila Boishakh considering the mega success of “The Eken” last year during the same time. Despite facing tough competition from KGF2, “The Eken” – the first feature film with the Eken character on Big Screen – managed to emerge as a box office hit and performed exceptionally well in 2022. Similarly, this year’s release of “The Eken Ruddhaswas Rajasthan” is also experiencing strong audience turnout and packed shows at theatres, even after three weeks since its release.
