A seminar on “Vision of the Millennial for Indian Coast Guard 2050” for young minds and future leaders was organized at Coast Guard Region Headquarters, North East on 09 Jun 23. Dr. Prabhakaran Paleri, PTM, TM former Director General, of the Indian Coast Guard graced the event as chief guest. Commander, Coast Guard Regional Headquarters, North East, Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM honored the chief guest by paying tribute to his remarkable journey as an exceptional leader who has played a pivotal role in shaping ICG. The Commander also insisted on his illustrious career span across various government departments and his expertise and reputation as a leader beyond National Border.
The seminar aimed to envision Coast Guard with cutting-edge technology to enhance surveillance response and interdiction capabilities by exploring the possibilities and challenges that lie ahead.
Dr. Prabhakaran Paleri, PTM, TM former Director General highlighted the induction of Amphibious aircraft in the near future that will enable the Coast Guard to reach remote areas and respond more effectively. He also emphasized the importance of enforcing and upholding Maritime Regulations/Legal frameworks within the Indian Coast Guard that included topics such as International Maritime Law, Safety, Security, Pollution, Search and Rescue protocol, and fisheries regulations concerning Maritime domains.
