Anne Coolen, Global Vice President of Programs, based out of Ghana came all the way to Kolkata at the venue Tolly Club to moderate the event with exceptional ease and an in-depth explanation of the vision of the organization.
With survey involving consulting majors like Deloitte showed that proper eye gear can improve the productivity of the workforce at Tea Gardens of India significantly as high as a 33% increase in net productivity.
Most of the time workers with less than 4 USD per day in tea gardens create a major bottleneck for the people and management to offer healthy work-life support.
While talking with Anshu Taneja, Country Director of Vision Spring India said the organization is optimistic about the drivers, workers, and other walks of life people if gets better support through eyeglasses which is 700 years solution yet out of reach of many because of cost can positively impact an economy like India with 5% increase in GDP.
The Eye gears were on display and they are of the finest quality in comparison to any standard branded glasses. But the cost is 65 to 350 INR depending on the frame or lens configuration which is almost impossible for other similar quality products by other brands.
The most significant thing is that the organization ran this program in Assam Tea Gardens around the Jorhat area with a sample size of 80K+ units and also for Bangladesh 5Lakhs units.
A commendable task indeed by any scale for the welfare of the poor.
It is needless to say with extended support from all corners of the globe Vision Spring can create a similar experience in other parts of India, especially in South Indian Coffee and Nilgiri Tea Plantation units. Even local artists benefited from their effort in Assam which interm helping preserve Indian cultural skillsets with “Clear Vision”.
