EASTERN RAILWAY CONTINUING EXCELLENCE IN GENERATING REVENUE

After achieving the highest revenue generation of ₹ 10683.66 crore in FY2022-23, Eastern Railway is continuing the increasing trend in revenue generation in the current FY2023-24 under the inspiring leadership of Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager/Eastern Railway.
The cumulative total revenue of Eastern Railway for the period from April – July 2023 in the current financial year was recorded as ₹3806.26 crore compared to ₹3388.32 crore earned during the corresponding period of the previous financial year thus registering a growth of 12.33%. The goods revenue recorded a 13.39% increase & in respect of passenger revenue, a 12.91% increase was recorded for the period from April – July 2023 in the financial year 2023-24 in respect of the corresponding period of the previous financial year 2022-23.
The originating passenger traffic of Eastern Railway for the period April – July 2023 was recorded as 369.596 million compared to the cumulative passenger traffic of 349.461 million during April – July 2022, registering a growth of passenger traffic to the tune of 5.76% in the current financial year. Eastern Railway has made all possible arrangements for the comfort of the passengers and in turn, the passengers prefer the Railway mode of transport and continuing increase of preference for long-distance as well as short distance journey through Rail transport.
