The Grand Finale of the Symposium on Anonymizer Hackathon was organized by the Department of Information Technology and Electronics, Government of West Bengal at the Biswa Bangla Convention Center on 12 August, 2023. This grand finale was a nine-month initiative to develop India’s first data Anonysmer through a hackathon involving 110 organizations, more than 650 registrations, and 40 submissions out of which six finalists presented their solutions to a panel of eminent jury members from the Indian Statistical Institute, Jadavpur University, and Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur today.

A student team from Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata represented by Agnish Ghosh, Surya Majumdar, Dr. Subhajit Datta, and guided by Dr. Subhashis Majumder, Head of the Department, of Computer Science and Engineering won the first prize which included a trophy and cash award of Rs 2.5 Lakhs. The second and third prizes were won by teams from the Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur, and the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras respectively. The prize distribution ceremony was graced by the presence of Mr. Babul Supriyo, the Honorable Minister of Information Technology and Electronics & Tourism, Government of West Bengal. It was a unique effort on the part of the Government of West Bengal to organize such a hackathon.

The entire Hackathon was coordinated by Mr. Ashwin Srivastava, Co-founder, and CEO, of Sapio Analytics.
