EASTERN RAILWAY OBSERVED SADBHAVANA DIWAS

Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway administered the Sadbhavana pledge with the officers and staff at ER Headquarters at Fairlie Place, Kolkata today (18.08.2023).
The birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi on 20th August is observed as “SADBHAVANA DIWAS” every year. The theme of Sadbhavana Diwas is to promote National integration and Communal Harmony among people of all religions, languages, and regions. The idea behind the observance of “SADBHAVANA DIWAS” is to eschew violence and to promote goodwill among the people.
Sadbhavana pledge was also taken by Shri Ashok Maheshwari, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, PHODs, and other officers and staff proclaiming that they would work for the emotional oneness and harmony of all the people of India regardless of caste, region, religion, or language. It was also pledged to them that they would resolve all differences through dialogue and constitutional means without resorting to violence.
Apart from Headquarters, the Sadbhavana pledge has been simultaneously taken at all 4 divisions and 3 workshops of Eastern Railway.
