Legendary composer Sudhin Dasgupta’s son ace musician Soumya is back in his city with A Conversion With Music
On August 24th, 2023, at 6:30 PM at ICCR, Kolkata, we welcome you to a beautiful evening of conversation. The language may be music but the journey you enjoy is between you and your soul.
The original numbers include some instrumentals and some songs as well. This musical introductory journey will be led by Soumya Das Gupta, an eminent architect, music composer, and director.
The guitar was never an instrument, but a signature for Soumya, who returned to the city of joy after three decades with a dream of creating good music. The legendary music composer-lyricist, Sudhin Das Gupta never overshadowed his son’s compositions. Soumya’s compositions are perfect examples of jazz, blues, Indian classical, and everything in between. They include a bit of emotion, an underlying message of encouragement, and self-acceptance.
While Nirmalya Roy, Kinjal Chatterjee, Namrata Bhattacharya, and Sonali Banerjee will lend their voices to enhance the music, Pratiti Ghosh, Debashis Bose, and Jharna Bhattacharjee will take you through the stories of the creation of the compositions.
Ranodip Mukherjee on keyboards is also an added attraction for this evening. 24th is also co-presented by Prithwish, Sourav, Ahon & others. Soumya Dasgupta says, ” It’s an attempt to celebrate good music with a wide range of variety including originals that I always prefer.”
