OPERATION NARCOS YIELDS SUCCESS: FEMALE SMUGGLER APPREHENDED WITH LARGE GANJA HAUL
Kolkata, August 27, 2023, In a joint operation, conducted by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Howrah Central, along with Crime Prevention and Detection Squad/Howrah, Crime Intelligence Branch/Howrah, and Government Railway Police ( GRPS)/Howrah, a significant breakthrough has been achieved in curbing drug trafficking. On 25th August, acting on credible information provided by reliable sources, the operation was meticulously planned and executed, leading to the apprehension of one lady passenger identified as Debika Barik from Howrah Railway station and recovered 69 kilograms of ganja, with an estimated value of Rs. 20,00,000 (Twenty lakh) from her possession. The contraband was concealed within six backpack bags. A case has been registered under GRPS/Howrah against her as per the Railway Act.
