ADG NCC Directorate Meets The Jadavpur University Vice Chancellor
Maj Gen Vivek Tyagi, ADG, NCC Dte, West Bengal, and Sikkim visited Jadavpur University and met officiating Vice Chancellor Dr Buddhadeb Sau. The appointments and their staff discussed the ongoing training of cadets and various issues pertaining to NCC functioning at the University.
The ADG earlier interacted with NCC cadets of Air and Army Wings of the four NCC Units located in Jadavpur University Campus. and reviewed the infrastructure as well as the training efforts of the Instructors. The smart motivated cadets of the University and select colleges of the area reflected their stellar standards and a visible passion to make a positive difference in support of nation-building.
The Officiating Vice Chancellor appreciated the work of NCC units over the past several decades in shaping the youth of the University and discussed ways of enhancing the reach amongst students. He also assured due support for the long pending requests of the NCC Directorate to upgrade the infrastructure provided to the NCC in the university which requires urgent repairs. The case is being pursued with the HED towards early action.
NCC Directorate of West Bengal and Sikkim has been reaching out to the Universities and Schools to synergise efforts and conduct a wide spectrum of training camps as well as Social Service, Community Development, and awareness programs towards empowering the youth. Recently a seminar on Cyber Crimes was also conducted in collaboration with the Kolkata Cyber Crime Department for the NCC Cadets.
