SWACHH STATION DIWAS OBSERVED IN EASTERN RAILWAY ON THE OCCASION OF SWACHHTA PAKHWARA

The Swachhta Pakhwara programme started on 16.09.2023 and will continue up to 02.10.2023. On the third day i.e. 18.09.2023 of Swachhta Pakhwara, Swachh Stations (Clean Stations) Diwas were observed throughout Eastern Railway through various programmes and activities.

The third day of the Swachhta Pakhwara, marked as ‘Swachh Station Diwas’ was designated for cleaning of A1 and A category stations, provision of an adequate number of dustbins, displaying anti-littering notices through announcements, display in video wall. A campaign for ‘fill the dustbin’, and ‘donate the dustbin’ was organised.

In the Sealdah Division, intensive cleaning activities were conducted at Sealdah, Kolkata, Baruipur, Krishnanagar, New Alipore, and Habra stations. Separate dustbins were provided at stations for segregated collection of waste materials with the slogan ‘Hara Geela, Sookha Neela’. An anti-littering notice was displayed through a video wall at Sealdah station.

In the Asansol Division, an intensive cleaning drive was also undertaken at various major Railway Stations like Asansol, Madhupur, and Jasidih stations. Separate dustbins were also placed with the slogan ‘Hara Geela, Sookha Neela’. Cleanliness awareness campaigning was also organised at various stations with slogans ‘fill the dustbin’, ‘donate the dustbin’ at Durgapur Railway station and ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat’ slogan was organised at Asansol Railway station.

Within the Howrah Division, efforts were focused on the cleanliness of drains & toilets at Bardhhaman, Bandel, Rampurhat & Howrah stations. Stations were also equipped with Separate dustbins for the segregated collection of waste materials featuring the slogan ‘Hara Geela, Sookha Neela’ and ‘fill the dustbin’, ‘donate the dustbin’ campaigning. Awareness programmes were also organised at various stations in the Howrah Division.

Various programmes and activities were also at major stations over Malda Division on Swachh Station Diwas.
