TRAINING PROGRAMME ON BASIC NEONATAL RESUSCITATION PROTOCOL ORGANIZED BY DIVISIONAL RAILWAY HOSPITAL, HOWRAH

With a vision to decrease the neonatal mortality rate to a single digit, a hands-on training program on Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol provider under the IAP – FGM – NRP (Indian Academy of Paediatrics – First Golden Minute – Neonatal Resuscitation Protocol) project was organized at Divisional Railway Hospital, Howrah, Eastern Railway on 13.12.23 with the help of Paediatric and Health and Family Welfare Department under guidance of Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent/Howrah.
About 24 doctors and nurses from B R Singh Hospital, Howrah Divisional Railway Hospital, Kanchrapara Railway Hospital of Eastern Railway, Garden Reach Central Railway Hospital, South Eastern Railway and other private hospitals of West Bengal participated & trained.
The aim of the workshop was to decrease neonatal mortality, and morbidity & provide quality care to neonates and improve morbidity-free survival.
Dr. Chaitali Patra, Divisional Medical Officer, Paediatric, Howrah Divisional Railway Hospital, was the course coordinator & instructor of this course. Dr, Sayantan Saha, Sr. Divisional Medical Officer/B. R. Singh Hospital and Dr. Anindya Bera, ACHD/Garden Reach/S. E. Railway were present as instructors. Dr. Debasish Guha, Chief Medical Superintendent/Howrah, Dr. Indu Surana, renowned neonatologist, Dr. V Pandey, Additional Chief Medical Superintendent/H&FW graced the occasion and distributed certificates to all the participants and the trainers.
