Eastern Railway, with its rich history and commitment to innovation, has been a cornerstone of connectivity and cultural exchange. Eastern Railway is pleased to announce the inauguration of the meticulously renovated Heritage-cum-Art Gallery at Eastern Railway Headquarters, Fairlie Place. The unveiling ceremony presided over by Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway, held on 19th December 2023 symbolizing the commitment of the Eastern Railway to preserve its rich legacy and fostering artistic appreciation within the community.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway said that the renovated Heritage-cum-Art Gallery stands as a testament to the Railway’s dedication to preserving its heritage and promoting artistic expression. The art gallery is not a collection of artifacts but a living chronicle of the people who dedicated their lives to preserving & sustaining these artifacts. Each artifact will tell a story of innovation & perseverance.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager and Chairman of the Heritage Committee, Eastern Railway, presented insights into the collaborative efforts behind the restoration and the importance of preserving our cultural and artistic roots. This significant event promises to mark a momentous chapter in the cultural heritage of the Eastern Railway, combining historical resonance with artistic expression.

Principal Heads of the Departments and other senior officers were also present on this occasion.
