Operation Sadbhavana: Indian Army Organises Veterinary Camp in East Sikkim
Trishakti Corps organised a Veterinary Camp at Tsomgo Village in East Sikkim on December 18, 2023, under the Indian Army’s flagship Operation Sadbhavana initiative. The event aimed at fortifying trust and strengthening bonds between the locals and the Indian Army, delivering essential health care services in the remote region.
The veterinary camp, underscoring the Army’s commitment to the well-being of the livestock, focused on the welfare of the locals through a dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff. Yaks, the livelihood and backbone of sustenance of the locals, were provided comprehensive services including vital vaccinations, meticulous health evaluations, and expert consultations.
In addition to the fundamental medical provisions, the camp facilitated educational sessions focussing on pivotal aspects such as responsible Yak ownership, optimal nutrition, and preventive healthcare measures. These enlightening sessions empowered Yak herders with essential knowledge, reinforcing the quality of life and sustenance of their crucial animal assets. Yaks, Goats, Sheep, and local Dogs were treated and provided veterinary care during the event.
