Para-athletes who brought laurels to India & AMF at the recent national & international tournaments were felicitated!
Hyderabad, 5th January 2024:
Aditya Mehta Foundation and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Samithi felicitated the para-athletes who won medals at the recently held World Ability Games and Asian Games and the qualifiers for the Paralympics 2024. Chief Guests Ms Lakshmi Manchu, Actress & Producer; Guests of Honour Ms. Shilpa Reddy, Trustee AMF & Past Mrs. India and Entrepreneur; Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD, NMDC and Shri T. Gopalkrishna, Dy. Commissioner, South Region Head, JNV; joined in the felicitations of the athletes. Aditya Mehta, Founder AMF; was present on the occasion.
The athletes felicitated included Jyoti (15 years old) who won a Bronze in Javelin as well as a shotput and silver medal in Discuss throw, Prashant excelled with a Bronze in Handcycling, Venu dominated with a gold medal in Discuss throw, Shiva (16 years old) rocked the stage with a Gold medal in Javelin and a silver in Shot Put, Janu (15-year-old) displayed prowess with a bronze in the javelin, Shivani (15-year-old) soared to 2 gold medals, one in shotput and one in Javelin, last but not least Khusbhoo (15-year-old) showcased her skill with a silver medal in para shooting. Special mention for Khusboo as she participated in mixed category (Men and Women) in the senior category and won silver at 15. Arshad & Jyoti have qualified for the Paralympics 2024.
AMF gave away training equipment worth Rs.1.5 crores including artificial limbs, wheelchairs, and customized sports equipment.
The people who sponsored these children to date in this journey along with AMF and without whom this journey looked tough and impossible are NMDC, UST, United Way of Hyderabad, Mudhra Trust, and Gmmco in association with Jawahar Vidyalaya Samiti.
