INDIAN COAST GUARD REGION (NORTH EAST) CONDUCT “MOTORCYCLE RALLY” FROM KOLKATA TO HALDIA TO COMMEMORATE
48th INDIAN COAST GUARD DAY
To commemorate the 48th year of its inception and to highlight the indomitable spirit of their men, the Indian Coast Guard Region (North East) launched ‘Motorcycle Rally-2024’ from Kolkata to Haldia. The Motorcycle Rally was Flagged Off by Inspector General Iqbal Singh Chauhan, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (North East) from Kolkata on 15 Jan 24, during which a host of military and civilian dignitaries including Head Business – Royal Enfield Motorcycle Company, IOCL and other sponsors were present. The Rally members were motivated and cheered by a large crowd that had gathered at the venue.
The 40-member strong team includes Officers and Men of the Indian Coast Guard Region (North East), who will utilise this occasion to foster a spirit of collaboration among all stakeholders of coastal security. The rally team members will sensitize the coastal population and fishing community about the importance of coastal security and educate them about the job opportunities in the Indian Coast Guard.
The Rally will cover a total distance of approximately 430 kilometres, wherein the team will traverse through various terrain of the coastline of the state and will also conduct Medical camps apart from interaction with fishermen, villagers, and Veterans.
The Chief Guest, Commander Coast Guard Region (North East) complimented the entire team for taking up onerous tasks which highlighted qualities of determination, brotherhood, and the vital role played by the Indian Coast Guard, Fishermen, and coastal villages, in the coastal security of our country.
