SHRI SUMIT SARKAR, ADDITIONAL GENERAL MANAGER INSPECTED PASSENGER AMENITIES & FACILITIES AT DIFFERENT STATIONS IN THE SEALDAH DIVISION

Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway inspected different stations in Sealdah Division today (8.2.2024). He took account of various passenger amenities & facilities for bringing improvement towards more passenger comfort. The inspection extended over Belghoria, Madhyamgram, Barasat, Bidhannagar Road & Sealdah stations. Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager also conducted window trailing inspection over Sealdah, Belghoria & Barasat stations. For the convenience of the passengers Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager instructed the concerned departments to construct a state-of-the-art toilet at platform No. 4 and level the surface of platform No.1 of Belghoria station, increase the number of water coolers and construct a new Foot Over Bridge, raising of the height of platform No.3 at Madhyamgram station and to construct new lifts at Barasat station. He also instructed to increase the number of CCTV cameras at all the station premises.
During the inspection at Belghoria, the Additional General Manager, of Eastern Railway thoroughly inspected all passenger amenities & facilities including booking counters, and ATVM/COTVM machines, and advised to popularize these machines among the passengers to get journey tickets without standing in long queues at the booking counters. He also interacted with the representatives of the Passengers Association there to get feedback for further improvements of the passenger amenities.
At Madhyamgram station, Shri Sumit Sarkar, AGM also interacted with the Passengers to get feedback regarding further improvement in passenger amenities and he instructed all concerned to fulfill the requirements of the passengers to the fullest extent possible.
At Barasat station, the Additional General Manager inspected the overall passenger amenities provided at the station and advised the concerned officials to undertake developmental works on a war footing basis. He also interacted with the media persons and spoke regarding the redevelopment of stations under the Sealdah division. While inspecting Bidhannagar Road station, Shri Sumit Sarkar instructed all concerned officials to take care of passengers’ complaints and promptly redress any issue on a priority basis. At Bidhannagar Road station, Additional General Manager counselled the illegal shop owners to remove their unauthorized stalls from station premises for the convenience of the passengers. While inspecting at Sealdah station, Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway advised all concerned to keep track record of passenger amenities & facilities and their working conditions on a daily basis so that those can be maintained and function properly for full satisfaction of the passengers. Everywhere Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager instructed the concerned departments to develop the passenger amenities provided at the station premises. Shri Deepak Nigam, Divisional Railway Manager, Sealdah, and other branch officers of Sealdah Division accompanied the Additional General Manager during his inspection today.
