ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT AND DISTRIBUTED SPORTS EQUIPMENT AT VILLAGE NEW KAIPHUNDAI, MANIPUR
In its unwavering resolve and determination to integrate the local youth of remote villages into the mainstream by fuelling their aspirations through sports, Assam Rifles under OP SADBHAVNA conducted a football tournament at Village New Kaiphundai of Tamenglong District in Manipur. This initiative also included the distribution of sports equipment to local youth of several villages.
The football tournament was conducted on 12-13 February 2024 at New Kaiphundai Playground with six teams participating from the villages of New Kaiphundai, Oinamlong, Lungchai, and Kaimai. The event was flagged off by Mr T J Gangmei who is the village chief of New Kaiphundai and representatives of various local Village authorities and women’s society members. Post completion of the event, sports equipment of multiple sports like football, volleyball, boxing, badminton, etc were also distributed to the locals.
This effort of Assam Rifles received enthusiastic participation and extreme accolades from the locals. Assam Rifles has always been the primary force, sculpting the local youth towards an empowered today and a secure tomorrow. This initiative in turn will act as a catalyst towards harmonizing the youth in mainstream and thereby contributing towards nation building.
