TRIAL RUN BETWEEN HEMANTA MUKHOPADHYAY TO BELEGHATA STATIONS OF ORANGE LINE TO START FROM 27.04.2024

Metro Railway authorities have decided to start trial runs on the extended stretch of Orange Line from Hemanta Mukhopadhyay station to Beleghata station from 27.04.2024 (Saturday). At present, commercial services are run between Kavi Subhash to Hemanta Mukhopadhyay stretch of this Corridor over a stretch of 5.4 km having five stations namely Kavi Subhash, Satyajit Ray, Jyotirindra Nandi, Kavi Sukanta and Hemanta Mukhopadhyay. Commuters can now interchange from Blue Line to Orange Line and vice versa at Kavi Subhash station. This trial run on the extended stretch of Orange Line will be conducted to check the preparedness to start commercial services from Kavi Subhash to Beleghata stretch of this Corridor.
The extended stretch of Orange Line from Hemanta Mukhopadhyay to Beleghata is spread over a stretch of 4.39 kms. Four stations namely VIP Bazar, Ritwik Ghatak, Barun Sengupta and Beleghata dot this stretch. On coming Saturday, one empty rake will be utilised to conduct this trial run on both UP and DN lines.
