SUPPLY OF COLD DRINKING WATER ENSURED AT ALL METRO STATIONS

Mercury has been soaring in and around Kolkata. In this intense heat people have been finding it hard to commute specially at the day time. As Kolkata Metro provides cheap, fast services and air-conditioned rakes for the passengers so they are finding this Metro system convenient in this scorching summer. In order to ensure comfortable journey for all of them, Metro Railway authorities have taken a number of steps to make their travelling soothing as well as comfortable.
In this intense heat, availability of drinking water of prescribed standard for passengers at stations is a basic amenity. Metro Railway has ensured the availability of purified drinking water at all its stations so that the valuable commuters can quench their thirst as and when required. Different corporate houses have been roped in for this noble cause where R.O. filters have been installed at the stations as well as chilled water has been made available to bring respite to Metro commuters in the heatwave.
A total of 116 purified drinking water facilities are now available in Blue Line, Green Line, Purple Line and Orange Line stations. The quality of water supplied through these machines is being frequently checked with the help of suitable devices. In the water facilities, Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology or alternate superior technology is being used.
Under the able guidance of General Manager Shri P. Uday Kumar Reddy, Metro Railway’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to passenger satisfaction and well-being. By providing access to clean, potable drinking water and efficient facilities, Metro Railway ensures that passengers can stay hydrated and comfortable in the Summer.
