TRAIN OPERATIONS WERE RESTORED IN SEALDAH DIVISION AT NOON AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PLATFORM EXTENSION WORK & COMMISSIONING OF ELECTRONIC INTERLOCKING MUCH BEFORE THE SCHEDULED TIME

Sealdah Division proudly announces that the ongoing station extension work for platforms nos. 1 to 5 has since been accomplished. Engineering, Electrical, Operation, and Signal & Telecom Department have done the herculean task much before the scheduled time which was 2:00 p.m. Now the entire Signalling system has been interlocked from 12 o’clock and train services at Sealdah have been restored from noon.
The entire Team Sealdah completed this immensely challenging task under the dynamic leadership of Shri Deepak Nigam/DRM despite inclement weather and severe heat waves. The work started from midnight of 7th June. We are thankful to our esteemed commuters for bearing with us and supporting the work, which will transform the travel experience by boosting overall operational efficiency and optimizing platform utilization. This extension work will enable us to carry at least 2 lakh more passengers a day in EMU trains.
