MAJOR DRUG RACKET UNEARTHED BY RPF AT SEALDAH
Kolkata, July 19, 2024.
Recently a joint operation by the CPDS team, Railway Protection Force (RPF), and Government Railway Police (GRPS) led to a major drug bust at Sealdah Railway Station under the leadership of Sri Manoj Kumar, Sr.DSC/SDAH and under the guidance of Sri Deepak Nigam, DRM/SDAH.
Two individuals, identified as Noor Islam Chaudhary and Md. Amir, were apprehended while attempting to transport a substantial quantity of Ganja, weighing approximately Kg, with an estimated street value of Rs. 8,00,000. The contraband was concealed within four bags and was destined for New Delhi by Rajdhani express.
Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of a third person, Amir Sk., and a Delhi-based mastermind, Rehan Khan alias Sadek.
The seized narcotics have been sent for forensic analysis. The arrested individuals are being interrogated to unravel the drug trafficking network.
Senior officials from the RPF, GRP and CPDS Team have commended the joint operation team for their diligence and swift action. Railway Protection Force remain committed to eradicating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety and security of commuters in Sealdah Division.
