RPF, EASTERN RAILWAY CONDUCTS MULTIPLE OPERATIONS OVER FOUR DIVISIONS

In a series of coordinated efforts aimed at enhancing passenger safety and security, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Eastern Railway conducted several successful operations on 4th August 2024. These operations, under various codenames, led to the arrest and prosecution of multiple individuals under the Railway Act, along with the recovery of stolen property and assistance to those in need. Below are the details of the operations conducted-

“Operation Samay Palan”
Under “Operation Samay Palan”, RPF officials from Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, and Malda Divisions arrested and prosecuted 06 individuals under the provisions of the Railway Act.

“Operation Mahila Suraksha ”
RPF officials from Howrah, Asansol, and Malda Divisions, under “Operation Mahila Suraksha”, arrested and prosecuted 04 individuals under the Railway Act.

“Operation Yatri Suraksha ”
In “Operation Yatri Suraksha”, RPF officials of the Howrah Division apprehended a TOPB (Theft Of Passenger’s Belongings) criminal and recovered a mobile phone valued at Rs. 8,000/- from Howrah Railway Station. The individual was handed over to the concerned GRPS as he was tagged in an old IPC case.

“Operation Amanat ”
Under “Operation Amanat”, RPF officials from Howrah, Sealdah, and Malda Divisions recovered a mobile phone, a guitar, and four bags containing valuables including a laptop, clothes, charger, medicine, watch, and personal belongings, with a total value of Rs. 2,14,820/-. These items were recovered from different trains and railway premises at Magra, Baruipur, Sonarpur, Sealdah, Bhagalpur, and Sahibganj Railway Stations and were handed over to their rightful owners after due verification and documentation.

“Operation Dignity ”
In “Operation Dignity”, RPF officials of the Howrah Division rescued a male individual from Shaktigarh Railway Station. The person, who had been missing during the Kawar Yatra from Tarkeshwar Railway Station, was safely handed over to his family after verification and documentation.

“Operation Sewa ”
During “Operation Sewa”, RPF officials from the Asansol Division rescued two injured individuals at Asansol and Jasidih Railway Stations. They rendered first aid, arranged transportation, and shifted the injured to the nearest Government Hospital for treatment.

“Operation Satark ”
Under “Operation Satark”, RPF officials from the Sealdah Division recovered 22 bottles of foreign liquor valued at Rs. 22,800/- from Kolkata Railway Station. Two individuals were arrested and handed over to the concerned GRPS for further action.

“Operation Uplabdh ”
Finally, in “Operation Uplabdh”, RPF officials from Sealdah and Asansol Divisions arrested 06 touts from reservation counters/shops with recovered 10 live Reservation/e-tickets valued at Rs. 21,443.80/- and 23 old reservation/e-tickets valued at Rs. 55,754/-. The arrested individuals were dealt with under specific sections of the Railway Act by the concerned RPF posts.

The Eastern Railway is committed to ensuring the safety and security of its passengers and will continue to conduct such operations to uphold the integrity of railway services.
