SVF Announces the Re-release of Chander Pahar to Commemorate the 130th Birth Anniversary of Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay
Kolkata, 16th September 2024: “Chander Pahar” , the iconic Bengali adventure film, gets a re-release on September 20th, 2024 , as a tribute to the 130th birth anniversary of the legendary Bengali author Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. Originally released in 2013, Chander Pahar had set an unprecedented milestone in the Bengali film industry, becoming the highest-budget Bengali film ever made at the time.
Directed by Kamaleswar Mukherjee, Chander Pahar stars Dev as Shankar, whose dynamic performance anchored the film, alongside a talented cast including Gérard Rudolf as Diego Alvarez, Shankar’s enigmatic companion in his African exploits, and Laboni Sarkar as Shankar’s mother.
