INDIAN ARMY RECOVERS A HUGE CACHE OF WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION ACROSS MULTIPLE DISTRICTS IN MANIPUR

In a series of coordinated efforts, troops of Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police and other security forces deployed in Manipur successfully recovered 18 weapons, ammunition, and warlike stores across Churachandpur, Kakching, and Thoubal districts between 04- 06 October 2024.

In Churachandpur District, on 04 Oct, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a joint operation with in the Khengmol area of Sangaikot Sensitive Zone and recovered one 9 mm pistol, five single-barrel rifles, and five improvised heavy mortars.

Similarly, based on specific intelligence regarding insurgent activity in Kakching District Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a joint search operation in the Turulmamai area, on 05 October and recovered three carbine machine guns, a 9 mm pistol, two single-barrel rifles, hand grenades and warlike stores. On 06 October 2024, an intelligence based operation in Singtom village, Kakching District, resulted in recovery of one sten machine carbine, One 9mm Pistol(Country Made), grenades, ammunition and war like stores.

In Thoubal District, on 05 Oct another joint search operation by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police in the Chingkham Ching resulted in recovery of a carbine machine gun, a 32 mm pistol, grenades, ammunition and war like stores.

On 6 October 2024 a team of Indian Army during an area domination patrol in village Thamlapokpi of district Tegnopaul in Genral area Moreh road and recovered a grenade, and war like stores.

All the recovered weapons and warlike stores have been handed over to the Manipur Police.
These successful operations reflect the dedication of Indian Army, Assam Rifles and local police in ensuring peace and security in Manipur. The local authorities and the public expressed their appreciation for the timely intervention and decisive action taken by the security forces.
