SVF Music Unveiled “Amar Mon Maney Na”: A Bold and Emotional Journey Through Love, Loss, and Resilience October 7th, 2024, Kolkata: SVF Music released its latest production, Amar Mon Maney Na, a compelling narrative that boldly addresses sensitive issues often left unsaid. With a remarkable balance of poignant storytelling and powerful music, this project promises to leave an indelible mark on its audience. SVF Music, known for pushing the boundaries of conventional storytelling, has crafted a story that touches on deep emotional and societal concerns—particularly the silence around domestic abuse, and the devastating impact of false rumors. With Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless words brought to life through Arindom’s soulful singing and music design, this production reflects the strength of the human spirit even in the darkest of times. The cast, featuring Sreeja Dutta as Uma, Gourab Chatterjee as Dhiren, and Avrajit Chakraborty as Girish, delivers performances that are both raw and heartfelt.

At the heart of Amar Mon Maney Na is the story of Uma, a young woman forced into a marriage with Girish, a much older man, by her family. Life in the grandeur of a rich Zamindar household, however, proves anything but glamorous for Uma, as she silently endures the abuses of her violent husband. The plot takes an emotional turn when Dhiren, Girish’s younger brother and Uma’s childhood friend, returns after years of studying abroad.
In a twist that feels both tender and tragic, Dhiren initially fails to recognize Uma until a cherished memento stirs memories of their past friendship. What starts as a reunion of hearts is soon torn apart by jealousy and rumor. False accusations of an affair, spread by Uma’s envious sister-in-law, fuel Girish’s violent rage, leading to Dhiren’s imprisonment and further torment for Uma.
Their portrayal of complex emotions is sure to resonate with viewers, reminding us of the often-unseen struggles faced behind closed doors. Amar Mon Maney Na stands as more than just a musical production. It is a brave step toward raising awareness, sparking conversations, and offering hope to those who may find themselves in similar situations. The music video is available on SVF Music YouTube channel and other audio platforms from 07th October.
Gourab Chatterjee on the project: When RNT1 was released, I watched both songs on YouTube, and I was truly impressed by how many views they garnered. The visuals in RNT have always captivated me, and engaging with Tagore’s work has been a long-standing priority of mine; I’ve always wanted to be a part of it. One day Moni Da shared the album RNT 2 project and particularly this song resonated with me. The music production is rich and globally influenced, with a profound depth that I loved. When SVF Music approached me to discuss the concept, I was overwhelmed by its depth and relevance to the song, and I could vividly envision the conceptualization and visualization, which excited me. I find fulfillment in my work, and I am driven by the desire to create meaningful content. This project felt personal to me, and I wanted to undertake it for my own growth. After a challenging process of scheduling dates, I feel honored to be part of such an important project. I believe the audience will love this song, as the video complements it beautifully. This endeavor has been bold, and the conceptualization is remarkable. I was eager to be involved, especially after hearing the concept. The subject matter, particularly domestic violence against women, is prevalent. Many individuals, across various sectors and segments of society, experience this issue, whether they realize it or not, and this video highlights that reality. This project will always hold a special significance for me for all the right things.
Sreeja Dutta on the project: This is my first collaboration with SVF, and it feels truly special. I’ve always wanted to work with the team, and releasing this during Pujo adds another layer of significance. The entire project is close to my heart, and it stands out as one of my favorite works to date. The SVF Music team has been an absolute joy to work with—they are incredibly supportive and encouraging. What attracted me even more was how deeply invested everyone was in making this project exceptional. Working with Gourab Da has been amazing, as always he’s simply brilliant. The concept behind this project isn’t just another music video; it tackles multiple important social issues, offering more than just entertainment, it conveys a powerful message. It highlights stories of people we may not personally know, but whose struggles we witness every day, even in 2024. It addresses child marriage, domestic violence, and honor killings— issues that remain deeply relevant. I believe SVF Music has taken a brave step, especially during Pujo, when we typically see cheerful content. This project is truly unique, and I feel honored to be part of something that carries such a strong social message. These aren’t just small incidents; they are life-changing realities that demand attention, and I’m grateful to contribute to a project that sheds light on them in such an impactful way.
